Instructions:
- Prepare the Bread:
- Toast the bread slices lightly if you prefer a bit of crunch, or leave them soft for a more traditional approach.
- Slice the Tomatoes:
- Wash and dry the tomatoes. Slice them into thick, even slices, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Assemble the Sandwich:
- Spread a generous amount of mayonnaise on one side of each slice of bread.
- Layer the tomato slices evenly on one slice of the bread.
- Season the tomatoes with a pinch of sea salt and a grind of black pepper to taste. If you’re using optional additions, add them now.
- Top with the second slice of bread, mayonnaise side down.
- Serve:
