Homemade apple fritters.

Heat about 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius) in a large, deep skillet or casserole.

Spoon little amounts of dough into the heated oil using a large spoon or an ice cream scoop. Make sure you don’t put too much pasta in the pan.

Cook the beignets for 2 to 3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden and well cooked.

In order to drain the beignets of any excess oil, remove them from the pan using a slotted spoon and place them on a grille or absorbent paper.

Make the ice cream:

In a medium bowl, whisk together the sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and homogeneous.

Pour enough icing around each warm donut to cover completely.

Place the glazed donuts back in the oven to let the glaze set.

To serve and taste:

Serve the warm apple beignets after the glaze has hardened.

Rest for at least 2 days in a covered container at room temperature.
