Cream-Filled Donuts

1 cup heavy whipping cream
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Sugar Coating:
1/2 cup granulated sugar
Instructions
Prepare the Dough:
In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Mix well.
Add the warm milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Beat on medium speed until smooth.
Gradually add the remaining flour to form a soft dough.
Knead the Dough:
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning once to grease the top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Shape and Fry the Donuts:
Punch down the dough and turn onto a floured surface. Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness.
Cut out donuts using a donut cutter or a round cutter. Re-roll scraps as needed.
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to 350°F (175°C).
Fry donuts a few at a time until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes per side. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Prepare the Cream Filling:
In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
